For Students

Are you seeking a letter of recommendation from me?  If so, please read before reaching out:

• If I am writing on your behalf for the first time, I need at least three weeks' notice during the semester (and longer when school is not in session). If I have written for you before and you are applying to something new, I need at least two weeks' notice during the semester (and longer when school is not in session).

• If you earned less than an A- in my class, I probably cannot write you a glowing letter.

• Once I have agreed to write, please send me the following materials (as attachment to your email; please do not share your Google Drive)

  • Your CV or resume;

  • A personal statement if you have one;

  • A list of which class(es) you took with me, when you took them, who your TA was, and at least one assignment you wrote in my class

  • Any details I need to know about what you are applying for

  • clear instructions on how to submit the letter

• Please tell me the outcome of your application when you know it!
